I often work with individual adults for long term psychodymically oriented depth psychotherapy from one to three 50 minute sessions per week. My training in psychodynamic psychotherapy informs this work as well as my own experiences and commitment to mindfulness and the cultivation of kindness and compassion.

The poet Miller Williams aptly says that we “do not know what wars are going on down there where the spirit meets the bone”. Because of this, I find it especially important to listen deeply to the particulars of each individual client in order to navigate the course of therapy. In this process I pay special attention to what we may not yet be able to communicate directly. I often may listen to what is being communicated through emotion and feelings, the language of dreams, metaphor and our bodies via sensations as well as what is happening between us in the relationship. Once we start understanding what is happening and what our patterns are it makes it easier to make changes and live with more depth and aliveness.
